I follow a
man named Scott Richburg on Facebook. He’s a friend from Texas. Scott’s recent
posts have been insightful. He has been prolific in his observations of the
pandemic and the things which have become valuable in America.
For
instance, he is distressed about the lack of sports on TV, but he has a
suggestion. According to Richburg, “if
you drop a bag of Skittles in to the toilet, squint your eyes and flush, it’s
almost like watching a NASCAR race.”
Let me just
read you the stream of consciousness from his keyboard. Things like:
“Auto
correct has become my worst enema.” And..
“We are
three or four weeks away from learning everyone’s true hair color.”
But many of Richburg’s
posts focus on a consistent theme. Our society’s recent obsession with toilet
paper… Here are a few of his posts…
“It was a
quiet Monday in September 2053, when John awoke with a need to go to the bathroom.
To John this wasn’t just any ordinary day. This was the day he would use the last
package of toilet paper his parents bought in the year 2020.”
Richburg also
examines logic saying he’d hate to see a diarrhea virus break out right now…it
would likely clean the shelves of nasal spray.
Understand,
it is not my intent to make fun of the virus or the people suffering from
it….but…it is my intent to make you smile.
It helps the
spirit.
