LaShawn K.
Ford wants to be the Mayor of Chicago.
Right now he
is an influential member of the Illinois House of Representatives.
He also
wants to tell you how to raise your kids. The Democrat has introduced a new concept
in parenting and the criminal justice system in Illinois. It’s called Parental
Bullying.
He authored
a piece of legislation which was assigned this week to the House Judiciary
Criminal Committee for an early February hearing.
In it, Ford
outlines an amendment to the Criminal Code of 2012. Parental bullying when a parent or guardian
“knowingly and with the intent to discipline, embarrass, or alter the behavior
of the minor, transmits any verbal or visual message that (the parent or legal
guardian) would coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial distress to
the minor.”
My God, Ford
is saying it is a crime for a parent to parent.
Further, if
you violate this law, you could be charged and fined. And the money will be
held in escrow by the state----because they are so good at holding money--until
your kid reaches 16.
I couldn’t
believe it when a listener posted this social media. So, I went into the
General Assembly’s Bill Status website, and there it was---House Bill 0181.
Parenting
style is not the state’s business. Embarrassing our children is not a crime.
Altering their behavior is our right and responsibility. You bet I intimidated my sons when they did
not follow my rules.
You see
what’s happening here. The state which is miserable at running its own house is
taking a stab at running yours.
Absolutely, totally unacceptable.
