If you are a
spiritual person, please consider praying for my wife. She is forced to live
with me these days. And it is no picnic.
After coming
back from vacation, I decided I needed to do something about the pants that
were getting harder and harder to button. They weren’t shrinking. The last straw was when I broke the wicker
chair in our dining room. Here’s your sign…
The official
weigh-in after the first week was good, But boy this is not easy and when the
high point of my day is an eight ounce piece of microwaved chicken breast on a
bed of lettuce, Mike is not a jovial, fun-loving guy. He is a mercenary who
would cut you for a potato chip.
I had to
take control of an out-of-control situation.
But watching
me cut a piece of Parmesan chicken in half at last week’s Rotary, because it
exceeded eight ounces, was stunning for everyone who sat at my table. More
stunning was my small portion of green beans. I hate green beans. But the diet says I get one “lean and green”
meal a day. And the only thing on the Rotary buffet table was green beans.
Guess what? I ate those green beans. Would have put my face down on the plate
and licked it clean if it was socially acceptable.
Now imagine
what it is like for my wife? Last night she said she now understands the stories
she’s heard about wives breaking down and buying cigarettes for their spouses
who are trying to quit smoking. That’s when I knew I was in trouble.
I know I
need to lighten up or she will leave a snack cake out…or worse… toss me a
radio….while I‘m in the bathtub.
I hate green beans but yeasts free diet not much else to eat I got down to skin and bones on green beans.
ReplyDeleteAlways remember to do it in moderation. Trying to go too hard from eating unhealthy to healthy is a recipe for failure. Increase your movement amount and add in some strength training and you will be more successful in reaching your goal. Shape.com has some really good free and nutritional recipes. Just eating that half piece of chicken will get old quick. Good luck. Step one is simply starting. And you've done that.
ReplyDeleteKeto diet huh? That's rough but the results are quick. Good luck.
ReplyDeletetwken2001 is totally right...you didn't get "40" pounds overweight in 2-3 months, so there is nothing intelligent/workable about trying to take it off that quickly UNLESS it is absolutely medically essential to do so. Just lose 2 pounds, then repeat
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely agree with the posts above. There is no miracle cure. Fast weight loss is what attracts people to certain "diets" (no matter what it's called) but it is better to go at it like how you put it on. Slow and steady wins the race.
