Hubris

I have a message today for our leaders.

Enough already. I’m getting pretty tired of politicians who spend the majority of the time at the podium telling us what a great job they are doing. Mistakes have been made and I’m not hearing much repentance.

This goes for both sides of the aisle. Stop breaking your arm slapping your back. Your primary function is to keep us safe…and somehow, someway that hasn’t occurred.
Our economy is at a standstill….our medical infrastructure is under attack.  Get over yourselves. This isn’t about you. It’s about all of us.

As an example, each day we air live the Governor’s  press conference. If he isn’t taking a bow, he has each of his cabinet officers pay homage to his leadership. The important message is drowned out by conceit….and it isn’t much different at the White House.

One of my favorite quotes, came from me.

Keep taking a bow and sooner or later someone is going to come along and kick you in the rear. I often make the quote a little more colorful with language unbecoming a broadcaster.

The point is: Please, Give us the information we need to make smart decisions. Tell us where the virus is and where you think it’s going. Put all our resources at  work  to find a cure.

But let’s put a muzzle on the excessive hubris on display from our political podiums.

As a listener I can say I don't always agree with your commentaries, but I applaud your views on your commentary of Hubris. I used to work for The Carmi Times a few year's ago,and we got a story from AP News one night & we were told by higher ups to sit on it, which we did. But my point is to Thank You for being the type of Newscaster that you are. Keep on giving your listeners the Honest Truth. Again I Thank You for being You!!!!
