I had a
problem late last week.
Didn’t know
it, but I had a pressure wound on the bottom of my foot. Understand, I’ve been
diabetic since early adulthood and I am very conscious of my blood sugars on an
hourly basis. And diabetics must keep an eye on their feet.
My wife
looked at the wound and said we needed to do something about it.
That’s when
I learned about Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Urgent Care. What a blessing it
was to us.
It was 7
o’clock. We went to the beautiful FMH Medical Arts Complex where we were almost
immediately cared for.
In a
nutshell, I will live.
But that is not the point.
I once was
in the running for a job in northern Texas, but my wife put her
foot down because there wasn’t a hospital within 50 miles. Only
helicopter service.
She was well
aware of what is available here….and never blinked at our decision to move back
home. That’s because we know of the services provided by Fairfield Memorial.
One of those positives is---Urgent Care.
The Urgent
Care is staffed by a team of mid-level providers---in other words---Physician
Assistants who can prescribe medicine and make important decisions when you
need them.
In my case,
I was given a tetanus shot and prescribed an antibiotic.
I was in and
out in 20 minutes.
And I made
an appointment for later this week with my primary health care provider.
Utilize this
wonderful service…it is a wonderful asset to the community..
