Don't Shoot The Messenger

Here is something you need to hear. This radio station is your daily link to important information during this crisis. Our social media, website and air signal have been totally devoted to giving you information as it breaks.

For a moment, let’s just take note. We are in constant contact with the county’s public health department and have great confidence in Administrator Clark Griffith and the leadership of the hospital in being totally transparent in giving us the true status here in Wayne County. They have been very professional.

As of yesterday, there have been about 14 people tested here. At least three have returned and are negative. When a positive test occurs, we will report it and ask questions about strategy to limit the exposure to the rest of us.

We….here at the radio station….are under daily pressure to disseminate vital information quickly and accurately. We are not here to stoke this fire.

Each afternoon we air the Governor at his live press conference. Every local organization cancelling a meeting has called us.  We have posted their information on wfiwradio.com.  On Tuesday night, the Fairfield City Council will meet without the opportunity for citizen attendance. We will air the meeting starting at 6:00 p.m. It will be on 104.9 FM.

We do these things because it is part of our mission. Honestly, it is no fun constantly delivering bad news. We know you are aggravated. We hear it in your voice.
But please help us do our job…Don’t shoot the messenger.
