Joe Didn't Get The Memo

In a way, I feel very sorry for former Vice President Joe Biden. The goalposts have been moved in a dramatic way when it comes to personal contact between the sexes….and it appears Joe didn’t get the memo.

On Sunday he defended his interactions with women…and said his practice of touching females was not inappropriate. I have to tell you, Joe, your political party is on the forefront of telling us what is….and isn’t appropriate. Social norms dictate that touching isn’t cool.

Democrat Lucy Flores is one example. She was a candidate for Lt. Governor in Nevada on the campaign trail with Biden a few years ago when she claims he kissed her on the back of the head. Biden is known for being touchy-feely. He has never worried about whispering….giving hugs…shoulder squeezes…even as cameras recorded the interactions. There’s lots of evidence out there.

What Flores suggested…was….that the 76-year-ol Biden is out-of-touch with today’s world. She has a point.

Things have changed dramatically in the last few years because of the actions of many powerful people in entertainment and the media. There are many examples of men who used their power or celebrity to threaten women. Given that reality, it’s best to just stay out of each other’s personal space.

Biden says he never intended anything by his actions…and I believe him. In this case, an old dog must learn new tricks…..

….or at least stop some of their old ones.
