I find the
Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination to be most disturbing. But today is the hearing and I simply must
say, everything about the events leading up to today are in direct conflict
with our system of justice.
The seriousness of the charge is enough for some.
For me, it is the veracity of the evidence.
I point an article in the New York Post which looks at eight problems
for Christine Blasey Ford today.
1. She can’t recall where this alleged
assault occurred, not sure of the house or even the street. She can’t recall
the year.
2. Ford says she told no one of the
alleged sexual attack. Not her best friend, her mother…no one.
3. The four people she says were at the
party, including Kavanaugh, all deny knowledge of the gathering in question.
4. Members of her own immediate family
seem to not be on her side. Her mother, father and two siblings are all conspicuously
absent from a letter of support released by a dozen relatives, mostly from her
husband’s side.
5. This summer Ford tried to reach out
to old high school friends to jog her memory. They couldn’t help her.
6. She’s a Democrat, hired a Democrat
activist lawyer while she engaged in anti-Trump marches.
7. Ford says her 2012 therapist will
corroborate her account. The shrink noted that Ford told her there were four
boys in the bedroom, not two as she says now.
8. Finally, she told the Washington Post
she was upset when Trump won in 2016, because Kavanaugh was mentioned as a potential
Supreme Court pick. But Kavanaugh was not added to Trump’s list of
possibilities until November of 2017, a full year later.
It is my
hope we can get through the day and vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh quickly.
Then the circus will leave town.
Right On Mike!
