The truth about Chicago

Last weekend, in Chicago, Illinois, our state, 66 people were shot. Twelve died from gunshot wounds.  The Windy City is on a pace to log over 3000 shootings and 600 murders before 2018 is complete. And those numbers could be low.

And yet, with some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, I hear many on the left blaming the violence solely on guns. Oh, there was other speculation.. That it was a hot weekend..but you know what? It was sweltering hot here too. Not one gun incident in our listening area by my estimation.

I’m sick and tired of hearing that guns are the problem.

Heck, I’m willing to wager we’ve got more guns per person in Wayne County than they have in Cook County. Our gangs here are our families and our guns are holstered unless it is hunting season.

The problem isn’t the proliferation of guns. The problem is Rahm Emanuel. There hasn’t been a Republican Mayor in Chicago since 1931. The rampant one-party rule is paralyzed by this gang violence.

They stand at the podium and wail about guns while, last weekend, while their children were  being gunned down on the street corners.  14 juveniles were shot including the deaths of an 11 and a 13-year-old, shot just standing innocently in their neighborhood. 

Remember when Chicago editors sent a reporter down here to try and figure out why 84 percent of us rubes voted for Trump.  And yet, they can’t figure out why the southside of Chicago is as safe as Kandahar.

It is time to take back the streets of Chicago.

It’s time for the President to stop the carnage. Obviously the Governor is either powerless or clueless.

Rahm Emanuel needs to be Trumped.
