I want this
commentary to serve as a warning. Don’t ever take the St. Louis Metrolink to
Busch Stadium for a Cardinal game, or to Lambert Field or any other St. Louis
area location. It’s just not safe.
I have my
own personal experiences on the light rail system, and they are very
disturbing. I took my wife and in-laws
to a Cardinal game and decided to save on parking by jumping on the Metrolink
at Scott Air Force Base.
What a
disaster.
The way over
the river was fine. But the trip back was absolutely hellish. You have to get in a human crush of people to
squeeze yourself into a highly over crowded car..Then you witness how
ineffective the police are…
A cop approached
a vagrant who was obviously using the seat across from us as a place to safely
sleep in air conditioned air. The vagrant wasn’t going to leave without a
fight. And remarkably, the cop backed off. Yes. He turned and walked away. That
left us to sit next to an angry person with no place to go.
Google
Metrolink and the word violence and you can watch video of people being
assaulted on line.
One of my
best friends lost his son, who was assaulted and killed while waiting for a
Metolink train.
The list of
arrests associated with this form of mass transit is long and quite honestly,
the leaders in St. Louis have no idea how to stop it.
And that’s
why I am warning you. Don’t make the same mistake I made.
Don’t be
cheap like me. Park in one of the stadium garages. Take the Redbird Express bus
line from St. Clair Square…anything but Metrolink.
I’m not
kidding. Your life might depend on it.
Right On Mike...
