It is clear that I am a conservative…someone who is clearly right of center. But, if I had the money, I would love to bankroll a new network. And the difference between The Dreith Channel and the others, would be a dogged pursuit for real journalism. Right down the middle…

Fox News was born as a counter balance to the obvious liberalism displayed every night on NBC and CBS.

But I don’t watch a lot of Fox News. I watch even less MSNBC..and don’t get me started about the biases displayed every hour on CNN.

I think there is a niche for a new cable channel. Let me describe it. A dogged pursuit of the truth, no matter what the outcome says about liberals or conservatives. Stories that are committed to showing both sides of a story. Balance and credibility on the part of commentators.

Let Fox run Hannity and MSNBC promote Rachel Maddow.

The new channel would not have opinion interspersed with real news. It would be the perfect channel for Joe Friday of Dragnet fame.

Responsibility, freedom of the press, Independence, sincerity, truthfulness, accuracy, impartiality, fair play and decency. The seven canons of Journalism.

I wish they were being practiced somewhere….
